He was introduced to Jiu Jitsu while travelling in Brazil and hasn’t looked back since. David is heavily involved in the beginner curriculum and believes that developing a strong base through fundamental technique is key to long term success. He also loves to play and have fun with the techniques, always toying with new ideas and experimenting with different styles. Blair began martial arts in high school as a way to overcome bullying and discovered Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in his early twenties. Since 2018, he’s trained and competed regularly, developing a deep appreciation for the art’s creativity and flow. Now teaching beginner BJJ and self-defense, Blair believes jiu-jitsu is a model for learning any skill—one that builds humility, honesty, and confidence on and off the mats.

Jake Ujack

Instructor

Morning Fundamentals

Rank: Blue Belt

Jake started training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 2022 and was hooked the moment he stepped on the mats. He began in his late 40s, which just proves you’re never too old to start Jiu-Jitsu. Jake says that training in the morning gives him energy for the rest of the day — besides, what else are you doing at 6 a.m.?

See you on the mats!
